President Abinader meets with 53 deaf students who completed artificial intelligence training
Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader met Thursday with 53 deaf students from secondary schools across the Dominican Republic who successfully completed an artificial intelligence (AI) training program.
During the meeting at the National Palace, Abinader praised the students for their dedication and performance, noting that their results were above the national average. He also expressed his willingness to work with young people to expand opportunities for education, employment, and professional development.
The students thanked the president for his support of the deaf community and highlighted the importance of gaining access to technology and training that can help them develop their skills and participate more fully in society.
The program was developed through collaboration between the General Directorate for Community Development (DGDC), technology company QVITAE, and the National School for the Deaf (Enapsor), with the goal of expanding access to innovation and digital tools.
QVITAE CEO Rafael Pichardo said 80% of the participants completed their assigned work and achieved above-average national scores. He also highlighted the work of student David Pérez Soriano, who developed a website for the National School for the Deaf as part of his web design training.
