Dominican Republic promotes hydrocarbon investment at IMAGE 2026 in Houston

Houston, Texas.- The Dominican Republic showcased its hydrocarbon investment opportunities and advances in oil-resource exploration at IMAGE 2026, the International Meeting on Applied Geosciences and Energy, held in Houston, Texas.

The country’s participation was led by the Ministry of Energy and Mines, through its Vice Ministry of Hydrocarbons, which established an institutional booth to present projects focused on hydrocarbon exploration and production.

The event also provided a platform for the Dominican government to promote investment opportunities and exchange information with specialized companies, government institutions, investors and energy-sector professionals.

IMAGE 2026 took place from August 17 to 20 at the George R. Brown Convention Center and brought together approximately 7,800 participants from the geosciences and energy industries.

Organized by the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG), the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), and the Society for Sedimentary Geology (SEPM), the event featured some 1,100 presentations, along with roundtables, workshops and practical courses.
