Partial closure announced for Las Américas Highway starting Friday night

Santo Domingo.- The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) announced a partial closure of the Las Américas Highway and its northern and southern service roads beginning Friday night, August 21, as part of ongoing road improvement works.

The closure will allow crews to dismantle the beams of the pedestrian bridge at kilometer 12, following similar work previously carried out at kilometer 10.

According to the ministry, the closures will be implemented gradually. While the main highway is closed, one of the service roads will remain open to allow vehicles to continue moving through the area.

Drivers will also be able to use the Ecological Highway as an alternative route during the work.

The overnight operation is scheduled to begin at 10:00 p.m. Friday and continue until 6:00 a.m. Saturday, August 22.
