Accelerated tourist growth in La Altagracia “exceeds its planning”
The senator for La Altagracia, Rafael Duluc “Cholitín,” warned that the accelerated economic, tourism, and population growth of this province has outpaced planning and public investment, resulting in traffic difficulties that could worsen in the coming years.
“Growth has gone ahead of planning, growth has gone ahead of public investment and that is why we have a province that has grown, but with great difficulties,” he said.
He suggested that the Government conduct a technical study of foresight and future projections to determine the province’s infrastructure needs and anticipate the problems arising from sustained growth.
“What is happening in the province of La Altagracia is not normal, and we have to pay attention to it, because that can lead to collapse. It is not only to correct what is happening now, but to see what is going to happen in a few years,” the congressman emphasized during an interview on the program “El Nuevo Diario AM.”
