Government to present territorial planning plan for Verón-Punta Cana

Santo Domingo.- The Ministry of the Presidency of the Dominican Republic and the Verón-Punta Cana Tourist Municipal District announced the official presentation of the district’s Territorial Planning Plan, a strategic initiative designed to regulate growth and guide urban development in the country’s leading tourism destination.

The presentation will take place on May 11, 2026, at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana, where authorities will unveil the technical document outlining guidelines for land use, urban expansion, infrastructure, and sustainability.

The plan aims to address the rapid population and tourism growth experienced in Verón-Punta Cana, which has created increasing challenges related to territorial organization and urban planning.

Government officials, business representatives, and stakeholders connected to local development have been invited to the event, which authorities describe as the beginning of a new phase in the district’s urban planning and sustainable development strategy.
