! The crown returns to the Dominican Republic! Joheirry Mola wins Miss World in Vietnam
The Dominican Republic is celebrating another Miss World crown. This Saturday, Joheirry Mola won the title in Vietnam, bringing joy back to the country and becoming the second Dominican woman to win the crown.
The first time the tricolor flag tasted victory was in 1982, thanks to Mariela Álvarez.
During her participation in the pageant, Mola made it clear that her proposal goes beyond physical beauty. In her answer, she explained that her “Beauty with a Purpose” involves bringing English to the most vulnerable communities because she understands the importance of being able to express oneself and considers this language universal.
Mola is an English teacher and has expressed how happy she is to share knowledge with her students. Her purpose, she explained, is to help them understand that life is lived with purpose and that they must be prepared.
As a woman, she has also highlighted, during her time on the show, the importance of breaking down barriers and argued that physical beauty is not everything.
