Adompretur holds Ordinary General Assembly, outlines key institutional progress and upcoming projects
Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Association of Tourism Press (Adompretur) convened its Ordinary General Assembly yesterday, Saturday, September 5, bringing together more than 50 active members at the Instituto Nacional de Formación Técnico Profesional (INFOTEP).
Coinciding with World Tourism Journalism Day, the gathering focused strictly on organizational governance, financial accountability, and strategic planning.
During the session, the organization formally sworn in Tony Arias Gil and conducted a comprehensive rendering of accounts, where President Sarah Hernández presented a detailed management report outlining significant administrative and financial milestones.
The assembly addressed critical operational matters, including a major debt relief agreement with the Dominican College of Journalists (CDP) that forgave roughly two million pesos in historical debt, alongside a settled monthly fee for headquarters usage.
Leadership detailed key infrastructure progress, such as the restoration of physical offices, complete archival digitization, and the revamp of the institutional web portal. Discussions also covered the review of internal bylaws, membership updates, the recovery of the Florida branch, and upcoming plans to reincorporate the Constanza branch.
Additionally, the assembly prioritized the staging of the XXII edition of the Epifanio Lantigua National Tourism Journalism Award (PEL 2026) under the “Storytellers” theme, while confirming the incorporation of FITUR funds and ongoing preparations for the Museum of Dominican Tourism.
