Puerto Plata welcomes the Celebrity Beyond with more than 3,000 cruise passengers
The Taíno Bay tourist port received the Celebrity Beyond cruise ship from Miami, with 3,224 passengers and 1,444 crew members, as part of the 38 stops planned for September in the country’s ports and anchorages, reported the Dominican Port Authority.
The vessel docked at 7:46 a.m. and departed at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 1, bound for Tortola, according to the Dominican Port Authority (APORDOM) in a statement.
The entity’s executive director, Alejandro Campos , highlighted that one of the priorities of his administration is to consolidate the country as a Caribbean cruise hub, through the strengthening of terminals, the attraction of new lines and greater participation of communities in the benefits of this activity.
“The Dominican Republic has shown that it has the potential to consolidate itself as a true Caribbean cruise hub,” he said.
The September schedule includes operations by Carnival Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian Cruise Line, MSC Cruises, Celebrity Cruises, Virgin Voyages, and Princess Cruises, with stops in Puerto Plata, La Romana, and Cabo Rojo.
The ships scheduled to arrive include Carnival Mardi Gras, Carnival Celebration, Norwegian Prima, MSC World America, Resilient Lady, and Allure of the Seas.
The Port Authority reminded that dates and times are subject to change based on the cruise lines’ operating conditions.
