Punta Cana Airport receives international accreditation for accessibility

Punta Cana.- Punta Cana International Airport has received Level 1 Accessibility Accreditation from Airports Council International World (ACI World), recognizing its efforts to create a more inclusive and accessible experience for passengers with reduced mobility.

The accreditation follows guidelines established by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, an ACI World resolution adopted in 2019, and international best practices for airport accessibility.

According to the airport, the recognition reflects the strategy, policies and initial initiatives implemented to improve accessibility and provide passengers with greater comfort, independence and safety.

The award was presented during a ceremony in which Punta Cana Airport also received the Best Airport in Latin America and the Caribbean distinction in the 5 million to 15 million passenger category. It marked the airport’s ninth award in that category.

In addition, the airport earned Level 3 Customer Experience Accreditation for the second consecutive year, recognizing its progress and practices aimed at improving passenger service and raising operational standards.

The latest recognitions highlight Punta Cana Airport’s continued efforts to strengthen accessibility, customer experience and service quality as part of its ongoing development.
