5 Dominican beaches recommended by HolidayCheck for water sports
Five beaches in the Dominican Republic have been highlighted by German travel portal HolidayCheck as top destinations for water sports, including surfing, snorkeling, diving, kitesurfing, windsurfing and jet skiing.
The recommended beaches are Cabarete, Playa Bávaro, Playa Grande, Boca Chica and Playa Rincón, offering different experiences across the country’s northern, southern and eastern coasts.
HolidayCheck pointed to the Dominican Republic’s warm year-round temperatures, clear waters and favorable wind and wave conditions as factors that make its beaches attractive for water sports enthusiasts.
Cabarete and Kite Beach, in Puerto Plata, stand out for kitesurfing, while Playa Bávaro in Punta Cana was recommended for snorkeling.
Near Río San Juan, Playa Grande offers conditions suitable for surfing, windsurfing and kitesurfing, thanks to its exposure to the open sea and frequent breezes.
In the south, Boca Chica, located about 30 kilometers from Santo Domingo, was highlighted for jet ski rides and other recreational water activities.
Meanwhile, Playa Rincón in Samaná was recognized for its more secluded setting and natural surroundings, providing an alternative for visitors looking to combine water sports with a quieter beach experience.
