Missing young man found dead in Playa Costámbar, Puerto Plata

Civil Defense personnel recovered the lifeless body of the 16-year-old boy on Saturday morning, who had been reported missing since Friday afternoon in the waters of Costámbar Beach, Puerto Plata.

According to witness accounts, the teenager, described by relatives as a promising baseball prospect, was spending time in the maritime area with several friends and an instructor when he was swept away or lost in the water.

The child’s remains were located around 6:30 a.m. near where he was last seen. The body was subsequently turned over to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) for the corresponding legal procedures.
