Aerodom launches digital app to improve real-time coordination at Dominican airports

Santo Domingo.- Aeropuertos Dominicanos Siglo XXI (Aerodom) has launched the Airport Community App, a digital platform developed by AirportLabs to improve real-time communication and coordination among airlines, government agencies, service providers and other airport operators.

The application is designed exclusively for airport personnel and organizations, including operations teams, airline crews, ground handling companies, authorities and other service providers. It is not intended for passengers.

The platform centralizes flight information, operational alerts, communications and performance indicators in a single digital channel. Users can access updated information on arrivals and departures, gates, aircraft positions and flight status, as well as receive automatic notifications for flights they monitor.

According to Aerodom, the tool will help reduce reliance on fragmented or manual communication, particularly when last-minute operational changes occur. Different stakeholders can receive the same updated information simultaneously, allowing them to respond more quickly and coordinate their actions.

The launch builds on Aerodom’s digital transformation process, which began in 2016 with the implementation of a new digital operations platform featuring an advanced Airport Operational Database (AODB) and resource-management capabilities. That system strengthened the exchange of real-time information across the six airports operated by the concessionaire.

With the new mobile application, Aerodom is expanding that digitalization to the day-to-day communication of the airport community.

“The digital transformation of an airport is not just about incorporating new technologies, but about ensuring that information reaches the right people at the right time so that they can act in a coordinated manner,” said Cyril Girot, CEO of Aerodom.

The application currently offers real-time operational and flight information, while future updates are expected to add integrated messaging, crisis-management tools and additional functionalities based on users’ needs and feedback.

Aerodom expects the platform to improve information-sharing, reduce response times, strengthen coordination and increase the ability of airport operators to respond to disruptions.

The Airport Community App was officially launched on September 9 at Las Américas International Airport (AILA). Representatives from the Airport Department, General Directorate of Migration, Specialized Corps for Airport and Civil Aviation Security (CESAC), Civil Aviation Board, airlines and airport service companies participated in the rollout.
