Dominican Republic and South Korea launch trade and investment dialogue

Seoul, Republic of Korea.- The Dominican Republic and South Korea launched a new trade and investment dialogue to strengthen economic ties, identify business opportunities and promote new investment projects.

The initiative, led by the Dominican Embassy in South Korea and the National Council of Export Free Zones (CNZFE), seeks to create a permanent platform connecting businesses and public-sector representatives from both countries.

Ambassador Angie Martínez highlighted opportunities in semiconductors, advanced manufacturing, medical devices, and electronic components, emphasizing South Korea’s technological capabilities and the Dominican Republic’s strategic location and free zone regime.

The first edition brought together representatives of more than 20 Korean companies from sectors including technology, electronics, energy, aerospace, agribusiness and medical devices.

Several companies expressed interest in visiting the Dominican Republic to evaluate potential investments. The Embassy and CNZFE are working to organize a multisector business mission.

The initiative follows a March 2026 mission involving 16 Korean agricultural machinery companies interested in exploring industrial opportunities in the Dominican Republic.
