FILSD 2026 brings live Dominican music to the Oasis Lúdico every night

Santo Domingo.- Music is taking center stage at the XXVIII Santo Domingo International Book Fair (FILSD 2026), with Dominican artists performing nightly at the Oasis Lúdico in the Plaza de la Cultura Juan Pablo Duarte.

The concerts begin at 8:00 p.m. at the Juan Lockward Bar of the Eduardo Brito National Theater and feature a variety of Dominican musical styles, including singer-songwriter music, romantic songs, folklore, jazz, merengue, bachata, and fusion.

The lineup began Monday, September 28, with Emmanuel Bretón and his group, followed by Marakandé, led by percussionist David Almengod, on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, Patricio Bonilla & Boni Jazz will combine Latin jazz, merengue, and tropical rhythms. Rose Mateo and her group will perform a romantic repertoire on Thursday.

Friday’s program will feature singer-songwriter Xiomara Fortuna, known for blending folk influences with jazz, rock, and tropical rhythms. The series will conclude Saturday with Samuel González and his group, performing boleros, bachatas, and songs influenced by jazz standards.

The musical program adds another dimension to FILSD 2026, creating a space where literature, audiences, and different expressions of Dominican music come together.
