MIREX advances plans to reopen Dominican Consulate in Caracas

Santo Domingo.- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIREX) announced that it is advancing preparations to restore services at the Consulate General of the Dominican Republic in Caracas, Venezuela, with the goal of bringing consular services closer to Dominicans living in the country.

MIREX said the official reopening date will be announced through its official channels. Once operational, the consulate will offer its full range of consular services and allow applicants to begin new procedures directly in Venezuela.

However, Dominicans who have already started procedures, submitted documents, or scheduled appointments in Bogotá, Colombia, must complete those processes there, as they will not be transferred to Caracas.

The measure is intended to make consular services more accessible to Dominicans in Venezuela and foreigners who require assistance, reducing the need to travel to another country to complete procedures.
