Arajet restores direct flights between Guayaquil and Punta Cana
Santo Domingo.- Dominican airline Arajet has resumed its direct service between Guayaquil, Ecuador, and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, with its initial flights operating at full capacity.
The route will operate from Punta Cana to Guayaquil on Mondays and Fridays, while flights from Guayaquil to Punta Cana will depart on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
The service will provide Ecuadorian travelers with direct access to the Dominican Republic and connections through Punta Cana to destinations including Cancún, Miami, Orlando and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Arajet Vice President of Communications and Public Relations José Cabrera said the return to Guayaquil demonstrates the airline’s commitment to the Ecuadorian market and highlighted the 100% occupancy of the initial flights as a positive indicator of demand.
Ecuador is among the 15 largest source markets for tourists to the Dominican Republic. Approximately 67,600 Ecuadorian tourists visited the country in 2025, representing a 4% increase from the previous year.
Arajet said the route’s reopening forms part of its strategy to strengthen the Dominican Republic as a connectivity hub for the Americas. The airline currently serves 30 destinations across the region and has transported more than 4 million passengers since beginning operations.
