Arajet resumes flights between Punta Cana and Ecuador

Santo Domingo.- Arajet has announced the return of its nonstop route between Punta Cana International Airport and José Joaquín de Olmedo International Airport, restoring direct air service between the Dominican Republic and Ecuador beginning in October 2026.

The low-cost carrier will initially operate two weekly flights, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, using its Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, which seats 186 passengers in a single-class configuration. Flight DM6780 will depart Punta Cana at 11:15 p.m. and arrive in Guayaquil at 2:15 a.m. the next day. The return flight, DM6781, will leave Guayaquil at 3:18 a.m. and land in Punta Cana at 8:03 a.m.

Arajet said the resumed route will improve connectivity for leisure and business travelers while providing easier access to destinations across the Caribbean and the Americas through its growing network. The move is part of the airline’s strategy to expand its footprint in South America by offering competitive fares under its low-cost model.

The reopening of the Punta Cana–Guayaquil route is also expected to strengthen tourism and commercial ties between the Dominican Republic and Ecuador, while reinforcing Punta Cana’s role as one of the Caribbean’s leading aviation hubs. Tickets are now available through Arajet’s official sales channels.
