Abinader to lead groundbreaking of Yanuna tourism project in Macao

President Luis Abinader will lead the groundbreaking ceremony Friday for the Yanuna mega-tourism project in Macao, Punta Cana, which is expected to attract an estimated US$2.375 billion in investment over several development phases.

Managed by Pioneer Investment Fund Management, the project will include a Ritz-Carlton and a Luxury Collection hotel, along with a residential component featuring 50 properties. A third hotel is planned for a later phase.

The first stage represents an investment of more than US$250 million, with the broader development expected to unfold over the coming years through several investment vehicles under the Dominican Republic’s Confotur tourism incentive law.

The groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. and is expected to bring together tourism industry executives, Pioneer representatives and officials from Marriott International.
