Tourism Minister inaugurates renovated Anacaona Park in Constanza
Tourism Minister David Collado inaugurated the renovated Anacaona Park in Constanza, La Vega province, following an investment of RD$29.3 million aimed at improving public spaces and strengthening the municipality’s tourism appeal.
The project restores the historic park as a recreational and cultural gathering place for residents while creating another attraction for domestic and international visitors to the ecotourism destination.
The renovation covered approximately 5,039 square meters and included improvements to sidewalks, flooring, staircases, landscaping, lighting, and public furniture. Other upgrades included accessible ramps, pedestrian paths, benches, water features, trash bins, and reinforced structures in the central roundabout.
The work also involved replacing the roundabout’s wooden roof, pruning trees, relocating a perimeter fence, and installing an existing submersible pump.
During the inauguration, Collado said the project addresses a long-standing request from Constanza residents and reaffirmed his commitment to investing in the area’s tourism development.
He added that his administration has invested more than RD$963 million in the municipalities of Constanza and Jarabacoa as part of efforts to strengthen tourism infrastructure in the region.
