Spanish business leaders highlight Dominican Republic’s investment potential

Madrid, Spain.- Spanish business leaders highlighted the Dominican Republic’s stability, legal security and economic growth as key factors making the country an attractive destination for foreign investment.

Víctor Moro, a Spanish businessman and executive at Vima Food, praised the country’s growth potential and skilled workforce, noting that all of the company’s employees in the Dominican Republic are Dominican. He also highlighted government efforts to promote business development and job creation.

Núria Vilanova pointed to sustained growth in tourism, industry and free trade zones, attributing the progress to the leadership of President Luis Abinader’s administration.

Abinader said Spain is one of the Dominican Republic’s main economic partners and the country’s third-largest source of foreign investment, with US$5.328 billion invested between 2010 and 2025. He highlighted opportunities in tourism, logistics, renewable energy, technology, industry and services.

Foreign Minister Víctor Ito Bisonó said government policies have strengthened macroeconomic stability and expanded productive capacity. He noted that the economy grew 4.6% between January and September 2026, driven by construction, free trade zones, tourism and services.

Other business leaders also described the Dominican Republic as a stable and dynamic market with favorable conditions for investment and continued economic growth.
