Arajet reaches 5 million passengers and strengthens the Dominican Republic as a connection point for the Americas

Arajet has transported five million passengers since it began operations in September 2022, a historic milestone that underscores its growth and strengthens the Dominican Republic’s role as a tourist destination and air-connection platform for the American continent.

The airline said this figure marks a new stage in its expansion, allowing it to build a network of more than 30 destinations in 17 countries, with its main hubs in Santo Domingo and Punta Cana. Through both airports, the company combines direct flights to the country with connections that facilitate travel between markets in North America, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean.

They highlighted that sustained growth in passenger volume supports this progress. In 2025, Arajet transported 1,480,278 passengers, a 37% increase compared to the previous year. In the first half of 2026, it carried 1,022,593 passengers, up from 624,706 in the same period of 2025, a 63.7% increase.

“Reaching five million passengers demonstrates the trust we have built and the opportunity it represents for the Dominican Republic to have an airline capable of connecting the Americas. Each new route expands the possibilities of attracting visitors, bringing markets closer together, and generating economic activity. Our vision is to continue growing so that more people can fly and so that the country consolidates its position as a connecting hub for the continent,” said Víctor Pacheco, CEO and founder of Arajet.

For the Dominican tourism sector, this connectivity expands opportunities to attract visitors and strengthens the country’s offerings in accommodation, gastronomy, excursions, transportation, and commerce. The operation between Santo Domingo and Punta Cana also links two gateways that cater to different travel purposes, from beach vacations and cultural tours to business trips and visits to family.

Likewise, the Arajet network offers regional alternatives that combine destinations and connect cities that require connections, expanding air transport options and promoting tourist and commercial exchanges across the continent.

As part of the celebration, Arajet recognized the passenger who became its five millionth passenger by traveling to New York. The recognition took place through an interactive experience with Dominican content creator Semipopi, during which the airline awarded him a round-trip ticket to any of Arajet’s destinations.
