Dominican Republic to host Ibero-American road safety data summit
Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic will host the eighth Ibero-American Meeting on Data and Road Safety, organized by the National Institute of Transit and Land Transportation (INTRANT), bringing together representatives from 14 countries to strengthen data management and develop strategies to reduce traffic accidents across the region.
The event will take place from May 20 to 23 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Dominican Republic Convention Center in Santo Domingo. Delegations from countries including Spain, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Peru, and Uruguay will participate in technical sessions focused on data quality, statistical analysis, institutional interoperability, and evidence-based policymaking.
INTRANT Executive Director Milton Morrison said reliable data is essential to designing effective road safety policies and preventing fatalities. The meeting is expected to promote regional cooperation and launch new initiatives to improve information systems and support safer mobility throughout Ibero-America.
