A peaceful demonstration has been called in Sosúa to protest alleged police abuses.

SOSÚA, Puerto Plata. – Citizen Jeremy Domínguez called for a peaceful gathering this Monday, July 27, at 5:00 p.m., in front of Plaza de la Playa Charamicos, in the municipality of Sosúa, to protest against alleged police abuses.

According to the announcement circulated on social media, the organizers assure that the activity will take place in a peaceful and orderly manner, with respect for patriotic symbols, especially the Dominican flag.

Among the main demands raised are respect for citizens’ integrity, the cessation of mistreatment and alleged abuses of authority, as well as compliance with the National Police’s constitutional role to protect the population.

The organizers called on citizens to participate peacefully, emphasizing that the demonstration aims to express concerns about police actions without resorting to violence.

So far, the National Police have not issued an official statement on this call.
