Abinader inaugurates 911 emergency system in Montecristi

Montecristi.- President Luis Abinader inaugurated the National Emergency and Security System (911) in Montecristi, extending coordinated emergency response services to more than 157,000 residents and visitors across the province.

With Montecristi joining the network, the 911 system now operates in 27 provinces, covering 94.64% of the Dominican Republic’s population—more than 9.6 million people. The service will operate in all six municipalities of the province and includes emergency response from the National Police, Fire Department, the Directorate of Out-of-Hospital Emergency Care (DAEH), and other government agencies.

Authorities also announced the deployment of 472 trained personnel, 13 ambulances, police patrols, motorcycles, fire trucks, and new surveillance cameras to strengthen emergency response and public safety. During the inauguration, Abinader urged citizens to use the service responsibly, stressing that false or unnecessary calls can delay assistance for people facing real emergencies.
