Abinader launches “Weekly Agenda” to give citizens a look inside government decision-making

Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader will launch the Weekly Agenda this Monday, August 24, at 5:00 p.m., a new live platform designed to give citizens a firsthand look at how the government monitors and executes its main priorities.

The weekly program will feature an executive meeting led by Abinader and attended by the ministers, directors and officials responsible for each topic under review. Each edition will focus on a different national priority, with discussions centered on progress, challenges, performance indicators, pending commitments and next steps.

The meetings will be broadcast live every Monday, allowing citizens to see how decisions are evaluated and how solutions are coordinated among government officials.

Education to headline first edition

Education will be the focus of the inaugural Weekly Agenda, with Abinader meeting with the sector’s leadership, headed by Education Minister Luis Miguel De Camps, to review preparations for the new school year.

The meeting will address the condition of schools, availability of resources, progress made, pending challenges and immediate priorities ahead of students’ return to classrooms.

Future editions will address other key areas, including the economy, citizen security, infrastructure, health, housing and energy.

According to the Presidency, the initiative seeks to bring government management closer to citizens by showing not only what the administration is doing, but also how priorities are monitored, obstacles addressed and solutions implemented.
