Abinader meets with private sector to discuss global price volatility

Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader led a meeting Monday with representatives from the commercial, industrial, business, and agricultural sectors to review the national price table, assess developments in international markets, and coordinate measures aimed at limiting the impact of global volatility on the Dominican economy and consumers.

The meeting, held at the National Palace, focused on maintaining economic stability amid fluctuations in oil and natural gas prices. Abinader said the ongoing dialogue between the government and productive sectors has helped build consensus and generate recommendations that complement government measures designed to shield the country from external shocks.

Abinader emphasized that cooperation with business, industrial, commercial, and agricultural organizations remains essential to preserving national stability and protecting households from international economic pressures. The session included senior government officials and representatives of major business groups, including CONEP, AIRD, ONEC, ÚNASE, and the Dominican Agribusiness Board.
