Abinader swears in new Army, Air Force and Police chiefs
Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader swore in the newly appointed commanders of the Dominican Republic Army and Air Force, along with the new director general of the National Police, during a ceremony Monday at the National Palace.
The ceremony also included the swearing-in of the new Inspector General of the Armed Forces, Deputy Minister of Defense for Military Affairs, head of the Presidential Security Corps (Cusep), and commander of the Presidential Guard Regiment.
Under Decree 557-26, issued August 16, Abinader appointed General Enmanuel Marcelino Souffront Tamayo as commander general of the Air Force, Major General Jimmy Arias Grullón as commander general of the Army, and General Rafael Ernesto Rodríguez García as director general of the National Police.
The decree also named Major General Jorge Iván Camino Pérez as Inspector General of the Armed Forces, Major General Delio Buenaventura Colón Rosario as Deputy Minister of Defense for Military Affairs, Brigadier General Guillermo Caro Cruz as head of Cusep, and Brigadier General Rafael Raimundo Ramírez Tejeda as commander of the Presidential Guard Regiment.
