Abinader visits Punta Bergantín tourism project in Puerto Plata

Puerto Plata.- President Luis Abinader visited the Punta Bergantín tourism, real estate and urban development project in Puerto Plata on Friday to review its progress and reaffirm the government’s support for strategic investments in the region.

During the tour, project director Andrés Marranzini Grullón briefed the president on the initiative, which is part of efforts to boost tourism and economic development in the Dominican Republic’s northern region, known as “The New North.”

Punta Bergantín covers approximately 9.6 million square meters near Playa Dorada. The project includes thousands of hotel rooms under international brands such as Meliá, Westin and Dreams, along with residential areas, golf courses, an innovation district, commercial spaces and film studios.

The government says the development is expected to attract investment, create jobs and promote a more sustainable tourism model in Puerto Plata.
