Indotel will continue to support ITLA scholarship program

Santo Domingo.– The Dominican Telecom Institute (Indotel) executive director, Pedro Jose Mercado Gris, said Friday the institution has not suspended 660 scholarships through the Academic Excellence Program.

With this statement, the official reversed the earlier decision of the telecom regulatory agency of not renewing the agreement signed with the Las Americas Technological Institute (ITLA) due to lacking enough funds to maintain the program which provides scholarships to economically disadvantaged students.

Mercado Gris said that despite the cooperation agreement with the ITLA scholarship expires on November 30, and the 50% reduction of Indotel budget, the institution will continue to provide benefits to scholarship students.
