An earthquake was recorded in the Dominican Republic.

At approximately 12:06 PM yesterday, Friday, June 26, an earthquake was recorded in the Dominican Republic, causing evacuations and panic among those who felt it.

According to several international earthquake reporting websites, a magnitude 5 earthquake was recorded 52 kilometers south of the Boca de Yuma Municipal District in the province of La Altagracia.

It was felt in several provinces of the country.

Dozens of people reported to Listín Diario that several entities in the National District evacuated their facilities as a preventive measure.

The evacuation also took place in squares, public institutions, and homes due to the magnitude of the event, such as the Ministry of Public Administration, the Council of Economic Advisors of the Caribbean Executive Power, and the Acropolis, among others.
