Arajet announces direct Punta Cana–Montevideo flights starting in 2027
Montevideo, Uruguay.- Dominican flag carrier Arajet announced a new agreement with Carrasco International Airport in Uruguay to launch direct flights between Punta Cana and Montevideo, expanding its network in South America.
The new route will begin operating on March 3, 2027, marking the first direct air connection between the Dominican Republic and Uruguay. Tickets are now on sale.
The service will operate three times a week, on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, using Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft.
Matías Carluccio, Commercial Manager of Aeropuertos Uruguay, said the new route will give Uruguayan travelers access to Arajet’s 29 destinations across North America, Central America and the Caribbean, including popular destinations such as Cancún and Miami.
Through Santo Domingo and Punta Cana, Uruguayan passengers will be able to connect with Arajet’s wider network, creating new opportunities for tourism, business and cultural exchange between Uruguay, the Caribbean and other destinations across the Americas.
