Santo Domingo.- Arajet received its 15th aircraft from Boeing, reinforcing the airline’s rapid expansion and strengthening the Dominican Republic’s position as an emerging aviation hub in the Americas.
The new Boeing 737 MAX, named “Isla Catalina,” was officially received at Boeing’s delivery center in Seattle, Washington. Representing Arajet was Manuel Luna, the airline’s director of communications and public relations. Dominican aviation authorities in attendance included Héctor Porcella, president of the Civil Aviation Board, Víctor Pichardo, director of the Airport Department, and Paola Plá of the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation (IDAC).
Luna said the addition of the new aircraft advances Arajet’s vision of connecting North America, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean through the Dominican Republic. Government officials emphasized that the airline’s growing fleet will enhance air connectivity, support tourism growth, and facilitate trade.
The aircraft is expected to arrive in the Dominican Republic on Monday and will immediately enter service. With 15 aircraft now in operation, Arajet continues to expand its route network and solidify its role as one of the fastest-growing airlines in Latin America.
