Arajet receives 16th aircraft, named ‘Pico Diego de Ocampo’

Santiago, DR.- Arajet has expanded its fleet with the arrival of its 16th aircraft, named “Pico Diego de Ocampo,” at Cibao International Airport. The aircraft is named after the Pico Diego de Ocampo Natural Monument, a protected natural area known for its ecological importance and role in preserving biodiversity and water resources in the northern region.

The new addition forms part of Arajet’s ongoing expansion strategy aimed at strengthening air connectivity between the Dominican Republic and destinations across the Americas. The airline also announced plans to launch regular operations from Cibao International Airport in 2027, supported by the expected arrival of nine additional aircraft over the next two years.

According to company executives, the fleet expansion will help meet growing passenger demand while reinforcing the Dominican Republic’s position as a leading aviation hub in the Caribbean. Airport officials welcomed the milestone, highlighting its contribution to regional connectivity, tourism growth, and economic development in the country’s northern region.
