Arajet reports more than 100,000 passengers between New York and Dominican Republic in 2026

New York.- Dominican airline Arajet reported that more than 100,000 passengers traveled between New York and the Dominican Republic during the first seven months of 2026, highlighting the importance of the route to its network.

The airline made the announcement Sunday during the Dominican Day Parade in Manhattan, where it reaffirmed its commitment to the Dominican diaspora and the role of air connectivity in strengthening tourism, economic and family ties between the Dominican Republic and the New York metropolitan area.

Manuel Luna, Arajet’s chief communications and external affairs officer, announced that the airline will soon introduce a fourth daily flight from Newark International Airport to meet growing demand.

Arajet launched its Santo Domingo-Newark service in June 2025, becoming the first Dominican airline in about three decades to directly connect the country with the New York area under the Dominican flag.

The airline said the expansion gives travelers more options and strengthens connectivity with one of the Dominican Republic’s most important international markets. It also allows passengers from Santo Domingo and Punta Cana to connect with other destinations across Arajet’s network.
