Arajet temporarily suspends Punta Cana–Chile flights due to aircraft shortage
Arajet will temporarily suspend flights between Punta Cana and Santiago, Chile, from August 1 to September 9 as part of a network adjustment driven by limited aircraft availability.
The Dominican airline said the suspension is temporary and does not signal its exit from the Chilean market. Service will resume on September 10, when Arajet plans to increase capacity by operating daily flights ahead of Chile’s Independence Day travel period.
Arajet currently operates the route three times a week using Boeing 737-8 aircraft with up to 189 seats, offering 1,134 weekly seats in both directions.
According to the airline, the expanded September schedule is intended to meet higher demand from Chilean travelers visiting Punta Cana and connecting to the carrier’s network of 29 destinations across the region. Arajet has previously described Chile as one of its key strategic markets and said it plans to continue expanding service as additional aircraft join its fleet.
