Authorities seize 123 kilograms of cocaine at Caucedo Port

Santo Domingo.- Agents of the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD), working alongside the Public Ministry, seized 120 packages of cocaine during an inspection at the Caucedo Multimodal Port.

The operation, which also involved state intelligence agencies and the General Directorate of Customs, targeted several containers bound for Rotterdam. After suspicious images were detected by X-ray, authorities inspected a container carrying medical equipment and discovered five black bags containing 120 cocaine packages wrapped in tape and marked with various logos.

According to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF), the shipment weighed 123.13 kilograms. Authorities said investigations are ongoing to identify and arrest those responsible, while interdiction efforts continue to be strengthened at ports, airports, and border crossings across the country.
