Capex brings government and business leaders Together in Santiago

Santiago, DR.- Vice President Raquel Peña participated Tuesday in the business luncheon “Building the Future from a Business Vision,” organized by Capex, which featured Frank Rainieri as the keynote speaker.

During the event, Peña highlighted the importance of creating spaces for dialogue on the country’s economic future and recognized Rainieri’s contribution to the transformation of Dominican tourism and national development.

Speaking to the press, the vice president described Rainieri as a visionary businessman whose experience offers valuable insight into the future of the Dominican Republic. She also addressed the current international economic environment, assuring that President Luis Abinader’s administration continues to monitor global economic conditions and implement measures aimed at protecting economic stability and vulnerable sectors.

During his presentation, Rainieri reflected on the origins of Punta Cana and the challenges involved in developing the tourism destination decades ago in an area with limited infrastructure and connectivity.

“Some call it opportunity, others call it luck; I call it vision,” the tourism entrepreneur said while discussing the growth of Punta Cana and the long-term planning behind its development.

Rainieri emphasized that sustainable progress requires strategic alliances, adaptability and continued investment in sectors with high growth potential, including manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, agro-industry and value-added national production.

The event, held at the UTESA Dominican Convention and Culture Center, brought together business leaders, government officials and representatives from various productive sectors to discuss leadership, innovation and opportunities for economic growth in the Dominican Republic.
