Carolina Mejía declares herself ready to take on the presidency

San Cristóbal.- The general secretary of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) and presidential hopeful, Carolina Mejía, reaffirmed her readiness to take on new political challenges and continue working for the country during an accountability event held with party leaders and supporters in San Cristóbal.

Addressing PRM members, Mejía stressed that the organization’s focus goes beyond individual ambitions and is centered on safeguarding the party’s future and the country’s development. She emphasized that those who contribute to the party’s victories should also share in its achievements, while expressing her commitment to defending the values that have guided the PRM’s growth.

Mejía highlighted her eight years serving as the party’s general secretary alongside José Ignacio Paliza, a period during which the PRM strengthened its national structure and secured two consecutive presidential victories under President Luis Abinader. She also pledged to continue supporting the administration’s accomplishments and helping build a stronger and more connected political organization.

The event brought together key political leaders from San Cristóbal, including local officials, legislators, municipal authorities, and party organizers. Mejía credited the PRM’s expansion to the dedication of its grassroots members, youth, women, and community leaders, asserting that their loyalty and commitment will remain essential to strengthening the party and advancing the country’s development.
