Catalina Sugar Beach to welcome MSC Cruises passengers starting November
MSC Group has unveiled Catalina Sugar Beach, a revamped beach destination on Catalina Island that will welcome passengers from MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys, as well as guests of Casa de Campo Resort & Villas, beginning in November.
Operated through a partnership between CTL Maritime and Casa de Campo, the destination will offer an upgraded Caribbean beach experience featuring private cabanas, water sports, dining facilities, bars and enhanced visitor amenities, while preserving the island’s status as a protected natural monument.
Visitors will also have access to excursions including snorkeling, catamaran cruises, trips to Saona Island, and visits to the Cave of Wonders and Altos de Chavón. An educational nature trail highlighting the island’s flora will also be available.
The launch coincides with MSC Cruises’ decision to make La Romana a new homeport starting in November. The MSC Opera will operate weekly Southern Caribbean itineraries from the port, with every cruise including a stop at Catalina Sugar Beach.
