Celebrity Beyond arrives in Puerto Plata as cruise activity expands in September

Puerto Plata.- The Taíno Bay tourist port in Puerto Plata welcomed the Celebrity Beyond on Tuesday, carrying 3,224 passengers and 1,444 crew members, as part of the Dominican Republic’s 38 scheduled cruise ship calls at ports and anchorages during September, according to the Dominican Port Authority.

The vessel arrived from Miami at 7:46 a.m. and departed at 2:30 p.m. for Tortola.

September’s cruise schedule also includes two visits by the Regal Princess, operated by Princess Cruises, to Puerto Plata on September 14 and 28, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Dominican Port Authority Executive Director Alejandro Campos said strengthening cruise terminals, attracting new cruise lines and ensuring local communities benefit from the industry are key priorities for consolidating the Dominican Republic as a Caribbean cruise hub.

The month’s scheduled operations involve major cruise companies including Carnival Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian Cruise Line, MSC Cruises, Celebrity Cruises, Virgin Voyages and Princess Cruises.

Cruise calls are planned for Puerto Plata, La Romana and Cabo Rojo, with vessels such as Carnival Mardi Gras, Carnival Celebration, Norwegian Prima, MSC World America, Resilient Lady and Allure of the Seas included in the schedule.
