CND unveils plan to promote mental health in the workplace

Santo Domingo.- The National Drug Council (CND) introduced its Workplace Prevention and Wellbeing Plan (PPBL), a technical guide designed to help public institutions and private companies strengthen mental health, prevent addictions, and create healthier, more productive work environments.

CND President Alejandro de Jesús Abreu said the initiative will provide organizations with digital and in-person support to train employees and human resources teams in mental health promotion and addiction prevention. He noted that the plan aligns with President Luis Abinader’s National Mental Health Plan and forms part of the broader State-Society Plan for Prevention and Coexistence 2026–2036.

During the launch, government officials and private-sector representatives welcomed the initiative, highlighting its potential to improve workplace well-being, prevent psychosocial risks and substance abuse, and promote healthier organizational cultures. The CND said the plan is aligned with the Dominican Labor Code, national health regulations, and recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO).
