Collado breaks ground on waterfront renovation project to boost tourism in Baní

Baní, Peravia.- Tourism Minister David Collado has launched a RD$136.9 million project to renovate Los Almendros Beach and the Baní boardwalk, part of the government’s ongoing effort to restore public waterfronts and boost tourism across the Dominican Republic.

The project, led by the Ministry of Tourism’s Executive Committee for Infrastructure in Tourist Zones (Ceiztur), will transform nearly 10,000 square meters with new plazas, terraces, landscaped green areas, recreational spaces, vendor kiosks, improved lighting, utilities, and upgraded pedestrian infrastructure.

Plans also include parking areas, public restrooms, playgrounds, outdoor fitness equipment, picnic areas, security facilities, and waste management systems to enhance the visitor experience.

Collado said the long-awaited project will revitalize one of Peravia province’s most important coastal recreational areas, creating a safer, more attractive, and environmentally sustainable destination for both residents and tourists.
