David Collado promotes Dominican tourism in Philadelphia and Charlotte
Tourism Minister David Collado added Philadelphia and Charlotte to the Dominican Republic’s “RD Road Show Around the World,” a promotional tour aimed at travel agents, tour operators and airline representatives in key markets that send visitors to the country.
During the events, Collado highlighted hotel development in established and emerging destinations, as well as government investments in beaches and infrastructure, as part of efforts to strengthen the Dominican Republic’s tourism competitiveness.
Philadelphia previously hosted the Road Show in 2025, while Charlotte represents a new market for the Ministry of Tourism, particularly given its growing Dominican community and increasing air connectivity with the island.
The initiative is part of Collado’s tourism diplomacy strategy, which focuses on directly engaging source markets and presenting industry professionals with the country’s latest tourism offerings, investment figures and promotional campaigns.
Since 2025, the Road Show has visited several U.S. cities, including Houston, Chicago, San Antonio, Orlando, Miami, New York, New Jersey and Philadelphia, as well as Toronto and Montreal in Canada and destinations in Latin America and Europe, including Madrid, Santiago, Buenos Aires, São Paulo and Mexico City.
