The Dominican Republic’s Ministry of Defense (MIDE), through the General Directorate of Vocational Schools of the Armed Forces and National Police (DIVEG), met with representatives of UN Tourism and the Ministry of Tourism (MITUR) to expand cooperation on technical and vocational training for the tourism sector.
The meeting brought together DIVEG Director Col. José Ramón Reyes Suárez, UN Tourism Executive Director Natalia Bayona, and Vice Tourism Minister Carlos A. Peguero to discuss initiatives aimed at developing skilled human talent for the country’s growing tourism industry.
Officials reviewed opportunities for academic cooperation, institutional strengthening, and programs to promote student and teacher mobility. The delegation also toured DIVEG’s workshops and training facilities.
