DIGESETT urges alternate routes after truck accident on Kennedy Avenue

Santo Domingo.- A semi-trailer carrying construction materials overturned Thursday morning at the intersection of John F. Kennedy Avenue and Núñez de Cáceres in Santo Domingo, causing major traffic disruptions after its load spilled across the roadway.

The accident blocked westbound traffic on John F. Kennedy Avenue, prompting the General Directorate of Traffic Safety and Land Transportation (DIGESETT) to urge drivers heading from west to east to use alternate routes while crews cleared the scene.

Authorities reported that the roadway was obstructed by scattered wooden materials, leading to heavy congestion in one of the capital’s busiest intersections.

No injuries or fatalities had been reported at the time of publication.
