DNCD chief reaffirms U.S. alliance in fight against drug trafficking and transnational crime

Quantico, Virginia.- The president of the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD), Vice Admiral José M. Cabrera Ulloa, highlighted the importance of cooperation with the United States in combating drug trafficking and transnational crime, describing the alliance between both countries’ security forces as a key factor in strengthening operations in the Caribbean region.

During a graduation ceremony for the Sensitive Investigations Unit (SIU) Basic Course held in Quantico, Virginia, Cabrera Ulloa thanked the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for its support in developing the operational capabilities of allied nations.

The DNCD chief said international cooperation goes beyond information sharing, as it also involves building trust, strengthening leadership, and training law enforcement personnel prepared to confront common security threats.

The ceremony recognized the graduation of 40 officers from six countries, who completed specialized training focused on sensitive investigations, integrity, professional standards, and regional cooperation.

Cabrera Ulloa emphasized that becoming part of a Sensitive Investigations Unit represents a commitment to protecting information, reinforcing institutional trust, and maintaining the highest standards in the fight against organized crime.

The Dominican official also reaffirmed the country’s commitment to continue strengthening its partnership with the DEA and other regional allies through joint efforts and strategic cooperation.
