Dominican Defense Minister meets with U.S. Southern Command delegation
Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic and the United States reaffirmed their military cooperation during a meeting between Defense Minister Carlos Antonio Fernández Onofre and a delegation from United States Southern Command led by Deputy Commander Evan Pettus and senior enlisted leader Rafael Rodríguez.

The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in regional security, military training, operational capabilities, professional education, and interoperability between the armed forces of both countries. Officials also discussed initiatives aimed at enhancing the preparedness, modernization, and professional development of military personnel.

Both sides reiterated their commitment to expanding joint programs that contribute to regional stability and security. The visit highlighted the longstanding strategic relationship between the Dominican Republic and the United States, built on decades of cooperation, technical assistance, training programs, and professional exchanges.
