Dominican Health Minister presents health system reforms at PAHO and OAS in Washington

Washington, D.C.- Dominican Health Minister Víctor Atallah is in Washington, D.C., on Monday to present the country’s progress in transforming its health system to health authorities, multilateral organizations and international experts.

Atallah’s agenda includes events at the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and the Organization of American States (OAS), where regional discussions are focusing on public health, innovation and international cooperation.

The minister will participate in a seminar alongside PAHO Director Jarbas Barbosa and representatives from across the region. The opening session will examine how data, health intelligence and digital transformation can improve healthcare and help authorities anticipate population needs.

Later, Atallah will deliver a presentation at OAS headquarters titled “Dominican Republic: Transforming the Health System to Guarantee Access, Innovation and Results.” He is expected to highlight policies aimed at expanding access, incorporating technology, strengthening health leadership and improving decision-making.
