Dominican Republic and Canada hold third Political Consultations Meeting
Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic and Canada held their third Political Consultations Meeting on Thursday to strengthen bilateral dialogue and expand cooperation in key areas, including trade, investment, tourism, air connectivity, and regional security.
The meeting was led by Vice Minister of Bilateral Foreign Policy Francisco A. Caraballo and Deputy Minister for the Americas at Global Affairs Canada, Glen Linder. Representatives from several Dominican institutions, including the ministries of Foreign Affairs, Finance, Energy and Mines, and Industry, Commerce and MSMEs, also participated.
Both delegations discussed issues of mutual interest, with special attention to the situation in Haiti, and reaffirmed their commitment to advancing joint initiatives that deliver concrete results for both countries. Officials also highlighted the strong state of bilateral relations as the two nations mark the 72nd anniversary of diplomatic ties established on April 22, 1954.
