Dominican Republic and CLAC invited to Future Aviation Forum 2027

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic and the Latin American Civil Aviation Commission (CLAC) have received an official invitation to participate in the Future Aviation Forum 2027, following discussions held with aviation authorities from Egypt and Saudi Arabia during the El Alamein International Airshow 2026.

The invitation was received by Julio Peña Guzmán, president of CLAC and the Dominican Civil Aviation Board (JAC), who led the regional delegation at the international airshow alongside CLAC Secretary Jaime Binder.

During a meeting with Egyptian Civil Aviation Minister Sameh Ahmed Zaky Elhefny, Peña Guzmán discussed opportunities to strengthen institutional cooperation and expand dialogue between the Arab world and Latin America and the Caribbean, particularly through civil aviation.

The Dominican official also met with Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duaileg, chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA). Both sides advanced a proposal to hold a special meeting during the Future Aviation Forum 2027 between Saudi Arabia and the 23 CLAC member countries to identify potential joint initiatives.

Peña Guzmán said the objective is to turn these discussions into concrete opportunities for technical cooperation, professional training and greater air connectivity between Latin America, the Caribbean and the Middle East.

The initiatives could also contribute to strengthening tourism and trade links between the two regions through closer collaboration in aviation regulation, technical knowledge and specialized training.

CLAC’s participation in the El Alamein International Airshow reinforces its role as a platform for coordinating regional aviation interests and developing new partnerships between Latin America, the Caribbean and the Middle East.
